A whimsical whirlwind homage to Pushkin, the famous Russian poet with the not-so-famous African great-grandfather. In Pushkin's Half Hour, John Agard transforms Pushkin’s famous verse novel, Eugene Onegin, into a contemporary parlour production in which he plays all the parts, not just Pushkin, the narrator, but alter-ego Onegin, love interest Tatyana, and even the old nursemaid Filipevna! With live incidental music arranged and performed by Sophia Poznansky (accordion) and songs performed in Russian by cabaret chanteuse, Pam Hewitt.
